In the USA could it be that we no longer have a Republic or a Democracy but a Kleptocracy?
A Kleptocracy is that form of government which forcibly takes more and more of your money for its own plans, purposes, and the personal power and benefit of the politicians. It is the government stealing from you. We have a government guilty of kleptomania.
Economics is no longer as described in the college textbook. Economics as now practiced in our nation punishes the working person, the entrepreneur, and every businessman with excessive taxation, which can be labeled ‘theft’.
With every employer and retailer involved, we have more tax collectors than any other nation in the history of the world. Some experts claim the tax level is now about 66% of our incomes.
No good case can be made for the efficiency or effectiveness of government programs, yet the government takes your money for education, medical care, and your retirement.
At the root, this is not an economic or political but a moral issue. The ancient law “You shall not steal” (Exodus 20:15) is still binding. Theft is dishonesty. If the government can steal, then basic morality is violated and society will finally self-destruct.
