Many Read the Bible

Many Read the Bible

To find a story about men seeking God, only to discover it is about God seeking men.

To find out what men thought about God, only to discover that it is about what God thinks about men.

To find out about the past, only to discover facts about the future.

To find out about Adam, Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, Peter and Paul, but to realize the Bible is about yourself.

To be comforted and encouraged, but instead you are distressed, afflicted, and convicted because you are a sinner.

To find a path of life, only to discover the path that leads to Golgotha…the place of death.

To find that life comes only from the death of Christ and through the shedding of His blood (Ephesians 1:7).

Only by His sufferings are we saved. Only by His cross is our condemnation lifted. Only from His lips do the words of forgiveness flow.

The hand that rescued us from Satan has been pierced by the nail. He is the one “who bore our sins in his body on the tree” (I Peter 2:24).

Out of the darkness of Golgotha comes deliverance from our sins.

Here at Calvary is the assurance that the past can be forgiven so the future can be enjoyed.
