At the Ashburn Baptist Church we love everybody! Since God loves us and everyone in the world, how can we not love every person that we meet? However, there is an exception. We hate the Devil. Satan is the Deceiver, the Disrupter and the Destroyer. Wherever he goes, he leaves wreckage in his path.
When we say that we love everybody, this includes folk with deviant sexual practices who have through the years been present at this church. These folk are welcome to attend the Bible classes and the services of the church. We visit these folk in the hospital when they have Aids and when they die, we have conducted their funerals.
However, because we follow the Holy Scriptures, which are the eternal Word of God, we are steadfast in our position that marriage is between a man and a woman as God has clearly taught in the Bible (Genesis 1:27). Therefore, all sex outside of marriage is sinful. Fornication is forbidden (I Thessalonians 4:3). Adultery is always wrong (Exodus 20:14). Relations between two men or two women are clearly rejected by God (Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26, 27).
We live in turbulent times when the Devil is out to destroy marriage and the family. This is hurtful to every individual and harmful to society at large. Marriage between a man and a woman is the only relationship that qualifies as a marriage. Other relationships are not marriages. Following the Bible pattern will result in receiving God’s richest blessings.
