The Admission Price to Heaven

The Admission Price to Heaven

To get into a theater, a baseball game, a concert, an auto race or a circus,
you pay.

Is there an admission price for heaven? Yes, there is!

But the problem is the admission cost is so high that no one can pay it.Since
Bill Gates does not have enough money, neither do you or I. Nothing we say,
nothing we pay or anything we do will get us into heaven. It is “not by works,
so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:9).

The price is so high, that it can be paid only by Jesus Christ, and then “it
was not with perishable things such as silver or gold” that we are redeemed,
“but with the precious blood of Christ” (I Peter 1:18,19).

If a person could get to heaven on his own, then Jesus Christ made the
biggest mistake of all time by coming to earth, going to the cross and shedding
his blood to pay for our salvation and provide an eternity in heaven.

Though the admission price is high, it has been paid by Christ and now “the
gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans
6:23).

Yes, it is humbling not to pay our own way, but heaven is not for proud
people.

If you have no sin, Christ did not die for you but because “Christ died for
the ungodly” (Romans 5:6). The marvel is that “God demonstrates his
own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans
5:8).

The apostle Peter puts it this way, “He (Jesus) himself bore our sins in his
body on the tree (I Peter 4:24)

Jesus said concerning heaven, “I am going to prepare a place for you” (John
14:2) and not only has he prepared this place, but he has paid our admission so
that anyone that turns from his sin and trusts in the Savior is guaranteed
eternal life in heaven.

There is no other Savior, there is no other heaven, and there is no other way
to get there. The Scripture says of Jesus, “Salvation is found in no one else,
for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
