Heaven is free and that’s the best deal you will ever be offered.
Heaven is the absence of everything despicable and miserable. There will be
no sorrow, no sickness, no pain, no death. Everything that has bothered and
troubled us in this life will have vanished.
Heaven is the enjoyment of everything desirable. It is eternal youth in a
perfect environment, all relationships are loving, and we will be in the
presence of our Savior forever.
Heaven is free, but it is not cheap. It cannot be paid for with “perishable
things such as silver or gold”. It is so valuable that it could only be paid for
“with the precious blood of Christ” (BibleVerse=I Peter 1:18,19}).
Sadly, everyone does not go to heaven. Jesus made it clear (BibleVerse=Matthew
7:13,14}) that a majority go to hell and only a minority go to heaven. This is
because only those who repent of sin and receive Christ as Savior, depending on
Him alone for admission, are allowed into heaven. Jesus said, “I am the way (BibleVerse=John
14:6}) and there is no other way. The price of admission is so great that only
He can pay it for you, and the pardon needed is so great that only he can grant
it on the basis of His sacrificial death for you.
We congratulate ourselves for finding a good deal, but this is the best of
all. To refuse it is foolish.
If someone could “pay” for his admission to heaven by doing good, saying
prayers, giving to the poor or any other deeds, then Christ would not have
needed to come to suffer and die upon the cross. He paid for our salvation
because we could never pay the price ourselves. And so the Scripture is clear.
Salvation and heaven are available when you “have no money” (BibleVerse=Isaiah
55:1}). “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (BibleVerse=Romans
6:23}), but you must receive the gift.
The Scripture is very clear that “it is the gift of God not by works, so that
no one can boast” (BibleVerse=Ephesians 2:8,9}).
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’
Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift
of the water of life.” (Rev. 22:17)
This is without any question the best deal you will ever be offered.
